Werge Law Group Supports the Bar / by Thomas Werge

The attorneys at Werge Law Group have consistently looked for ways to support the bar associations and improve the practice of law. Even our newest associates are becoming leaders of the bar. Kelsey Martin has recently been appointed to the Colorado Women's Bar Association's (CWBA) Board of Directors as the representative for the Colorado LGBT Bar Association. Kelsey has a dual position with the LGBT Bar, serving as the Social Media Chair and Mentorship Chair. In these positions, her goal for 2023 is to launch a professional mentorship program through the LGBT Bar to serve CU and DU OUTLaw students by matching them with members of the LGBT Bar. The program will be live this upcoming Fall 2023 for OUTLaw students. Keep an eye out for ways to participate. In addition to the mentorship program, Kelsey helps facilitate events for the OUTLaws students throughout the year. For updates regarding the upcoming schedule, follow the LGBT Bar on LinkedIn here or join as a member at (https://coloradolgbtbar.org/).

Austin Baxter was recently sworn in as an attorney and is a member of several bar associations. He is a member the LGBT Bar Association, the Hispanic bar association, the Boulder Bar Association, and the Colorado Bar Association (CBA), including the Cannabis Law Section and the Sports and Entertainment Section. He also plans to participate in the Young Lawyers Division.

Greg Corbin is Chair-Elect for the Solo Small Firm Section of the Colorado Bar Association, where he previously served as Secretary. The SSF Section organizes Continuing Legal Education (CLE) events, networking opportunities, and a community forum to facilitate support and advice among fellow attorneys practicing alone or in a small firm. It serves as a valuable resource for solo practitioners, enabling them to establish connections that might otherwise be challenging to attain. Greg has already held multiple events and happy hours for the Solo Small Firm Association to bring together attorneys and foster a positive community. He has also served as a CLE presenter for the Solo/Small Firm Institute presented by the Solo Small Firm Section, helping attorneys elevate their practice.

Tom Werge was recently appointed to two new positions: (1) as the Denver Bar Association representative to the CBA’s governing body, the Board of Governors, and (2) as an at-large representative to the CBA Litigation Section Executive Council. He also continues his work with the Solo Small Firm Section, primarily through its Judicial Nominations Committee. Tom relishes his involvement with the CBA and DBA, and strives to assist our diverse legal community in improving our system of justice and the practice of law.
