Kelsey Martin, Associate Attorney
kelsey@werge.law

Kelsey’s practice focuses on general commercial litigation for small businesses and non-profit clients, as well as litigating music law matters. She has experience with all parts of the litigation process – from the initiation of actions, discovery, motions practice, settlement of cases, trial preparation, and post-judgment enforcement actions. Kelsey has litigated in county, state, and federal courts, advised clients in bankruptcy court proceedings, as well as assisted clients in alternate dispute resolution procedures. She has represented clients through issues arising due to contractual breaches, difficult partnership breakdowns, music royalty disputes, construction matters, post-judgment enforcement, and bankruptcy matters. Kelsey is mindful of the unique difficulties faced by small businesses during the course of litigation, and works diligently to resolve matters efficiently, and with clients’ best interests at heart.

Prior to joining Werge & Corbin Law Group, she was a Student Attorney in D.U.’s Civil Rights Clinic, working on a complex class-action lawsuit on behalf of all individuals incarcerated by the state of Colorado, advocating for better conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic. While at D.U., she worked on a variety of matters for clients, including employment discrimination claims, commercial contract disputes, and prisoner's rights issues.  She gained her passion for working with small businesses during her time at Texas A&M as a business management major, when she participated in a micro-consulting and financial literacy project assisting individuals with their small businesses in rural Panama.

She is an avid traveler, having participated in several study abroad trips throughout college and law school and visiting 6 continents. Outside of the office, she enjoys long-distance cycling, reading, oil painting, tennis, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
