Tom is an attorney, businessman, and musician. He founded Werge & Corbin Law Group to provide efficient, high-quality legal services to small businesses and individuals, focused on litigation and dispute resolution.
Tom’s practice is focused on small business litigation and music law. He regularly represents clients in business disputes, including business divorce / partnership breakups and breach of contract matters, together with copyright and trademark infringement, employment, real estate, construction, trade secret / noncompetition matters, prosecution and defense of civil judgments / complex collections, bankruptcy and nondischargeability claims, professional liability and malpractice, civil rights, financial industry, insurance, non-profit, and other litigation matters. Tom has broad litigation experience, handling the full scope of the process, including pleadings, motions practice, discovery, experts, depositions, jury trials, and appeals. Tom also represents clients in arbitration, at mediation, as local counsel, and in administrative proceedings. Tom has also served as an expert witness and as an arbitrator.
Before starting the firm, Tom practiced at Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell, Colorado’s largest litigation-only firm. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and served as a law clerk to The Honorable J.E. Beshouri of the District of Columbia Superior Court. He has achieved and maintained AV Preeminent status from Martindale-Hubbell, was named a Colorado Super Lawyer for Business Litigation in 2023, and was honored in Colorado Best Lawyers for Commercial Litigation in 2024.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Tom spent seven years working in business, information technology, and human resources, primarily at Level (3) Communications (now CenturyLink/Lumen Technologies). In addition to his law degree, Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Colorado State University.
Tom is also an active musician. Since 1996, he has performed with his band, 12 Cents for Marvin. Over more than 25 years, the band has released five full-length albums, completed multiple tours, performed hundreds of shows, created music videos, and it continues to perform throughout Colorado. The confluence of Tom’s musical and legal careers have been featured in articles by The Docket and Law Week Colorado.
Tom lives in central Denver, with his wife, Halie Crocker Werge, and their three children.
